Zurich, Switzerland, 29 January 2026 – Crypto Finance Group, part of Deutsche Börse Group, has appointed Mike Schwitalla as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), effective February 1, 2026. The newly created role underscores the company’s strategic focus on growth, client centricity, and international expansion.
As a member of the Executive Committee, Mike Schwitalla will be responsible for Product Development, Sales, Trading, Custody & Settlement, Infrastructure & Staking, as well as Marketing & Communications. He will report directly to the CEO of Crypto Finance Group, Stijn Vander Straeten.
Mike Schwitalla joined Crypto Finance in December 2020 as Senior Principal Trader. He was appointed Head of Trading in April 2022 and assumed the role of Head of Clients and Market Access in June 2024. In these positions, he played a key role in expanding institutional trading activities and strengthening market access for professional clients.

Mike Schwitalla has more than ten years of experience in electronic trading, liquidity management, and commercial leadership across FX and digital asset markets. He has a proven track record in building institutional client relationships, scaling commercial activities, and driving sustainable revenue growth within regulated financial environments. His expertise spans pricing, execution frameworks, and trading infra-structure, combined with a strong focus on governance, risk awareness, and close collaboration with Com-pliance, Risk, and Legal teams.
The Executive Committee of Crypto Finance AG now includes Stijn Vander Straeten (Chief Executive Officer), Pascal Schmid (Chief Risk Officer), Florian Lachenmeier (Chief Financial Officer), Nathaniel Zollinger (Chief Technology Officer) and Mike Schwitalla (Chief Commercial Officer).
